30 years of Southbank

01 September 2009

“On September 12, 1979, [five educators] crowded into the cramped Dickensian office of Nutt & Oliver, a firm of city solicitors, to sign a document which established the American International School (as Southbank was then called).” This is an excerpt from the memoir of Southbank International School’s founding Headmaster, Milton Toubkin, talking about the day the school went from idea to reality. Throughout this school year we will be commemorating the 30-year history of our school, which opened to students in September 1980. To cap it all off, a 30th anniversary celebration event has been planned for Saturday, 26 June 2010.
