Climate

Our Grade One students have been gaining a deeper understanding of how climate influences our lives. They also inquired into how the location of a place affects the climate and how weather can change in different seasons.

The students were enthusiastic researchers during this unit and learned how to use resources such as Google Earth and the BBC Weather website to find out about the weather in different places. They also learned how to use thermometers to measure temperature and how to record temperature.

The students each created a book about the four seasons in London. They also chose a country they would like to visit and researched the average weather conditions for the month of March in that place. They then created books to share their findings and included information on the location of the place they had chosen, the season in that place in March, the clothes they could wear and activities they could do there.
