Culture Vultures!
13 May 2009Grade 2 Kensington students have just come to the end of their Culture Vultures Unit of Inquiry.
This unit gave the children the opportunity to investigate the concept of "what makes you, you", through aspects of their own identity and culture, both visible and hidden. One of the strengths of this unit was that the children developed a deeper understanding of the hidden aspects of their culture and identity including their beliefs and values.
The unit was perfectly timed in the run up to Southbank's International Night which allowed us all to celebrate the more recognisable aspects of culture such as food, flags, music, clothing and dance.
