Eco Trips

13 May 2009

During the past few weeks, Grade 3 at Southbank Hampstead have been learning about the relationships that exist within ecosystems.

They went on two field trips to observe these relationships first hand. The first trip was to the Wetlands Centre where they discovered how animals rely on living and non-living things to survive. The students carried out a pond dip and found out about the food chains that exist in the pond ecosystem.

Later, they went to Tottenham Marshes where they explored different habitats, learning that many organisms tend to hide in wet weather so they had to work extra hard to find some!

Back at school, the class constructed their own ecosystems to illustrate how they work.
