Students View Ancient Relics

27 April 2009

In their Humanities lessons, Grade 6 Southbank students have studied the ancient civilizations of Greece and Egypt. These civilizations are rich with culture and tradition and many of their relics and artifacts can be found at The British Museum. The students visited all the pertinent rooms and made connections with the work they have been doing in class. They also visited the rarely open and little known "Gallery 16" giving them a chance to view relics that are not normally shown to the general public. The journey there and back was also educational, as students took in the grade sweep of social, architectural, historical and aesthetic history of London.
