After-school Activities
Some of the activities currently on offer are:
STUDENT COUNCIL (Grades 3-5)
Held during lunch time, this is a student-led think tank that will find ways to promote important school issues and plan events for the Southbank Kensington community.
NEEDLECRAFT (Grades 2-5)
Children are encouraged to develop needlework and craft skills in a relaxed and creative atmosphere.
LET'S BUILD TOGETHER! (Grades K-3)
Create, design and build 3D objects using a variety of materials, your bare hands and imagination.
FOOTBALL (Grades K-5)
Football is a structured club, designed to improve children's skills and team work including drills, competitions and matches. Run by Fit For Sport.
CHOIR (Grades 2-5)
Build up a repertoire of songs in different styles, genres and languages for future performances.
COOKING CLUB (Grades 2-5)
Take part in creating culinary delights.
STREET DANCE (Grades 2-5)
This is a free activity where participants will heighten creativity and dance skills as well as help create a performance for International Night on 9 May.
SWIM SQUAD (Grades 3-5)
Training is designed to improve your cardio respiratory endurance as well as your technique in freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke. Coached by Fit for Sport.
SWIMMING CLUB (Grades K-2)
Build water confidence through games and fun activities with coaches from Fit for Sport.
MANDARIN CLASSES (Grades K-5)
Structured lessons will be planned to meet learner needs. Beginners are welcome! Classes are led by a native speaker.
DRAMA WORKSHOP (Grades 3-5)
This drama workshop will run over two terms and culminate in our end of year performance. For the first term, we will work with the main actors only. That means we will read the script (written by Grade 5 students), audition for parts, brainstorm performance ideas and rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. You can still join in the second term, when we will write lyrics and work on the big chorus numbers. So if you want to act - join now. If you want to sing and/or dance, join next term!
MODELLING THE MASTERS (Grades 1-5)
This activity is led by Seema Khanna. Model and sculpt using clay to recreate a painting from a famous artist in 3D/relief.
WALLCLIMBING (Grades 3-5)
Run by Westway coaches, participants will encounter a number of challenges in order to learn and develop technique and build confidence. As a safety requirement, all participants must fill out a consent form.
YOGA BUGS (Grades K-2)
A creative way to stimulate imagination, have fun and maintain natural flexibility. The class combines exciting adventures with songs, stories, breathing and relaxation techniques.
Activities are subject to change according to demand and interests.
