Town Meetings
This is a weekly meeting of staff and students. Town Meeting is an opportunity for announcements, appeals, special assemblies, presentations of student learning, discussions, debates, guest speakers and musical performances. It is also an excellent way for students to learn about the work of individuals and organisations in London. Town Meetings are used to address matters of importance in personal, social and emotional education (PSE). Issues relating to values and codes of behaviour are considered at Town Meetings throughout the year.

International Evening
One of the most popular events of the Southbank calendar is International Evening during which the School celebrates its rich cultural diversity and international traditions. This is organised by the PTA and includes costumes, displays and typical dishes brought by families from each student’s native country.
Grade 5 students, accompanied by their teachers, currently go on a field trip to Wales as part of their Alternate Energy Unit of Inquiry. This hands-on experience outside of the classroom enriches what they have learnt at school. We schedule this trip near the beginning of the first term so that the class can develop teamwork and co-operation skills and bond as a group.
