Southbank International School is ranked in the Top 10 of schools in and around Central London (out of 458 in a 10 mile-radius from our Westminster campus location) and is in the top 1% of all schools in England (4,490 schools that offer the English National Curriculum or the International Baccalaureate Curriculum).
See 2011 League Table released in January 2012 by the UK Government's Department for Education.
Southbank's class of 2011 have produced a fantastic set of IB Diploma Programme results, with an average score of 33.1 points and a 100% pass rate. These results put us above the world average points score and world average pass rate of approximately 82% and average of 30.8 points.
38% of our students scored 35 points or higher and 32% were awarded Bi-lingual Diplomas*. 12% of the grades were 7s (out of 7), 32% of the grades were 6s, significantly higher than the IB world average and the mean subject score was 5.27, which is well above the world average. Southbank's average score of 33.1 is above 3 A*s at A Level.
23 different nationalities were represented in our class of 47 graduates this year. Our top scorers represented the following countries: India, Sweden, Italy, United States, Australia, Israel, New Zealand and UK. Out of the nine highest scorers, one student had been with us since Primary school and therefore followed the Primary Years Programme with us; seven students joined us in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and one student in the Diploma Programme, Grade 11.
The British Universities and College Admissions Service (UCAS) has recently agreed a new tariff for the IB that rates it very highly. This confirms that our students have achieved highly over many years. 32 IB points is equivalent to 3 A*s at A Level from 2011 onwards.
We are extremely proud of our pass record. Assessing our applicants' academic performance and potential without using entrance exams has yielded IB scores that challenge those of the UK's top independent/Grammar schools.
