American Football Players Coach Pupils
30 November 2007Current and former American Football players coached PYP pupils on November 29.
Aden Durde (linebacker), Jerome Allen (quarterback), Ariel Monford (safety) and Juma Woodhouse (wide receiver) from Sweet Feet Academy led a Grade 5 PE class for Southbank International School. Pupils from the School's Hampstead and Kensington campuses practised skills for a fast-flowing version of American Football called Flag American Football.
Head of PE at Kensington, Randall Haime, explained: "The students were very active and enjoyed both the session and interacting with their Southbank friends. Many of the students will be attending school together next year at Southbank Westminster and we aim to provide more opportunities for them to interact in the future."
The lesson was so popular, that Flag American Football has been added to the after-school activity program at Southbank. So watch this space - the next American Football star could be a former Southbank International School pupil!
