Busking in Portobello Road

Portobello Road was alive with the sound of music on Saturday, December 1 as Southbank Kensington students entertained the crowds of shoppers, family and friends.

Kindergartern to grade 5 students learn to play violin or cello through the Suzuki Music Programme. The pupils used what they have learned so far to entertain the public. Their efforts raised over £400 for the Suzuki in Schools Initiative which enables children from other schools who otherwise may not have been able to have Suzuki lessons. The money will go towards free lessons for children who receive free school meals.

"The children were magnificent," commented Principal Judith Kingsbury. "Many thanks to the families who came to support them and the PTA for organising hot chocolate and cookies for the performers."
