Discovery Week at Southbank Westminster

15 September 2008

Discovery Week offers students the opportunity to meet, interact and cooperate with their classmates beyond the realm of the School.

As adults we would agree that it is the consequence of our own experience that dictates the value of it. It is therefore as educators that we attempt to create an environment in which this balancing act between structure and freedom; self-expression and dictation; teamwork and individuality, listening and discussing enables students to experience this.

This year, our students were spread across the UK: Grade 6 went to Osmington Bay, Dorset; Grade 7 visited Little Canada on the Isle of Wight; Grade 8 took part in the World Challenge in Buxton, Derbyshire; Grade 9 stayed in Moorland Hall, Tavistock, West Devon; it was off to Penright, Cumbria for Grade 10 on an outward bound activity; and Grade 11 stayed in Battisborough House in Devon.
