Early Years Foundation Stage

Several Southbank staff recently attended a workshop to learn more about the new Early Years Foundation Stage programme that all schools, nurseries and child minding agencies in England who have school children aged between three and five years in their care, have to implement.

They found the standards and requirements of this Programme very much in line with what we already do here at Southbank. In the model, learning is seen as active with continuous assessment through observation, information planning and future learning in order to help each child take the next step on their learning journey.

Staff from Hampstead and Kensington also took part in a two-day intensive Paediatric First Aid training required by the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines.
