Indian Dancing

09 October 2008

As part of Grade 2's Stories from Around the World unit, one of our parents visited the Hampstead campus to teach how stories are told through dance in India.

Three dances were performed - a classical one in Sanskrit, a folk one in Gujerati, and a Bollywood dance from an Indian movie.

The class learnt about how the various hand movements have different meanings, and were able to try and learn some of the steps themselves. Although it was quite complicated, everyone had a very enjoyable time.

This is just one example of how our parents can enrich the learning experience at school.
