Mongolian Mission Accomplished

04 September 2009

Several months ago we reported on former Southbanker Luke Phillips' ambitious Mongolian mission.

Luke and his friend John Napier raised funds for a trip to Ulaan Baatuur to work with charity Mercy Corps Mongolia, a group which works with rural communities to create small businesses and economic opportunities, and also funds projects to help disabled children and teach sign language to deaf children, parent and teachers.

We are pleased to announce that they made it to their destination safe and sound. Luke said, writing on his blog: "Lost many tyres, several convoys, a couple of other cars, but had the most amazing time."

The guys are still accepting donations for the charity. See their website for more information.
