National Portrait Gallery Visit

21 May 2009

This week, Grade 5 students from Southbank Hampstead visited the National Portrait Gallery for an arts workshop.

They took inspiration from an 11-minute morphing portrait of the renowned scientist Baroness Susan Greenfield. Working in small teams they created poems based on their responses to the artwork. Using voice and body percussion the students composed music for a song, reworking their poems into lyrics.

The workshop culminated in a public performance in the gallery. It was an incredible experience for all who took part.
