Parents learn about PYP
01 October 2008It is not only the students who learn well at Southbank, but our parents can come to school too!
New parents are always invited to come and find out more about the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). This year Southbank Hampstead and Kensington campuses hosted well-attended information sessions in their respective halls.
"It was great to see so many new parents and listen to their conversations about changing classroom practise from when they were children," explained Hampstead Principal Helen O'Donoghue. "We considered what are the necessary key concepts, skills, attitudes and dispositions needed for the 21st Century learner. By the end of the session, there was a deeper understanding of the Programme and how we at Southbank are very proud of our achievements in promoting international learning through the Primary Years Programme."
These were the first of many parent education mornings to be held at the campuses. The next one at Hampstead will focus on Early Literacy.
