Graduate has first book published

10 October 2008

A Southbank graduate has just become a published author.

Daniel Wright graduated with an IB Diploma in 1994. Since then he majored in Engineering at university and became a stand-up comedian. He now lives in New York City.

The inspiration for the book came from the website Daniel has worked on for four years: www.patentlysilly.com.

"Patently Silly: The Daftest Inventions Ever Devised" was picked up by the UK publisher Carlton Books and features the most outlandish patents issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office. It includes an incredible range of patents from the self-operating seesaw to the talking toilet paper roller. The book also has a foreword written by British inventor Trevor Bayliss.

Daniel says: "Needless to say, I'm quite excited!"
