Southbank International School Online Communications

20 January 2012

With the starting of the New Year, Southbank International School is adopting a new bespoke personalised Portal and online booking system of student's After School Activities.

We understand that our community is very busy and parents need support to keep up to date with their school responsibilities and school's information. Our main purpose is to facilitate that interaction and ensure learning opportunities are not missed out. By providing personalised Grade relevant information we aim at improving our parents' response to communications and interaction with the school.

It was fundamental to have received the support from parents and our PTA to implement such activity. Online booking systems are in people's everyday lives these days, from buying a book to booking their holidays. They are used to technology and are becoming ever more internet savvy.

For a smooth transition from conventional communications to an online booking and payment facility we are carrying out, in Term 2, our first system trial with Southbank Hampstead. The objective is to ensure our community and admin team are able to use and run the system effectively and flawlessly.

The school-wide launch of the After School Activities personalised online booking system is arranged for Term 3. Our parents and students will be able to watch videos, view pictures, rate and post feedback on activities. We see this improvement as a great way to keep people informed and aware of what to expect and, therefore, avoid surprises. Very soon we plan on implementing further facilities such as an exclusive online shop for purchases of PE Kit, lunch and others.

"By improving our ways to communicate and interact with parents we seek to improve their involvement in their child(ren)'s education, therefore maximising all provided learning opportunities," said Joao da Costa - Marketing Officer.
