Students Break World Record
09 December 2008Southbank's Grade 4 students from Hampstead and Kensington are official world record holders.
The students took part in The Big Sing concert at the 02 Arena in November, singing with another half a million children, breaking the record for the most children's voice singing at one time!
The Big Sing brings together two music organisations, Youth Music and Young Voices, in a collaboration dedicated to involving school children in a fun and memorable community project. The event raises funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, Youth Music, and CLIC Sargent (a UK children's cancer charity offering care and support for children, young people and their families).
Kensington Principal, Judith Kingsbury, said: "It was an amazing event and so much fun. It was great to be part of a large school choir with many other schools coming from within London and the surrounding areas to sing at this performance. My thanks go to the staff involved and all the parents and siblings who cheered loudly from the audience!"
