Thames Explorers
28 January 2009Grade 5 at Hampstead have been discovering how artifacts and resources can give insight into local history.
As part of their Artefacts Unit of Inquiry, they spent a few hours on the foreshore of the River Thames discovering London's history through the things it has left behind. They found Roman mosaics, medieval pottery, nails from the ship-building days, Victoria pottery and pipes, evidence of butchers and factories, glass bottles and much more.
The activity was led by the Thames Explorer Trust.
