The Queen Writes to Southbank
02 March 2009Southbank Westminster's Grade 6 EAL (English as an Additional Language) students have received a letter from Her Majesty the Queen.
The students learnt about the institution of the British monarcy last term and were so interested in what they learnt that they decided to write to the Queen.
They were delighted to receive a letter from Sandringham House stating: "The Queen wishes to write and thank you all for the letters which you sent to Her Majesty at Christmas time. The Queen greatly appreciated your good wishes and thought it kind of you to tell Her Majesty about the festivals you celebrate in your own countries. Although The Queen does not have time to reply personally to all the hundreds of people who write to her each day, she was very glad to hear from you. Her Majesty thanks you once again for the care you have taken with your letters, and sends her good wishes to you all for the coming year."
