Vocal Masterclass – London West End comes to Southbank International School

Last week Southbank Westminster vocal students had the opportunity to attend an exclusive vocal masterclass workshop delivered by the West End singer Kurt Kansley. Kurt currently performs on the West End and has already starred in many musicals including the famous Lion King.

During the workshop, students participated in a variety of activities including warming up techniques, relaxation and improving their vocals before a show or a practice. Having the opportunity to perform their chosen musical pieces, students received personalised feedback including tips and suggestions on how to reach the next level while enjoying themselves.

Our young singers were very excited with the event and surely made the most of it. Here's what they had to say:
"For some this event built our confidence - for others this event improved our acting and singing ability - but everyone learned something throughout this amazing opportunity."

Future workshops are being planned by our devoted music department. The idea is to be able to offer a variety of techniques and scenarios to suit every musical taste.
