What's Special?
Southbank Hampstead was established in 1995 and is a dedicated primary campus with 200 students from over 30 countries in the world, aged 3 to 11.
Southbank Hampstead is a special place of learning. We are an international campus that offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme that is uniquely designed to meet the needs of our students in the 21st Century. We aim to provide the best learning for all students, providing the necessary and essential knowledge, skills and understanding to become independent learners, who are caring and have an international mindset.
Learning is an active and dynamic process at Southbank Hampstead, where the students develop the essential knowledge and skills to inquire into the world around them and beyond. Our teachers encourage the students to challenge ideas, seek solutions and be creative. By valuing and maturing our students' ideas and opinions, our students become self-motivated, enthusiastic and confident learners.
We have enthusiastic and dedicated teachers committed to their profession. Students' individuality and strengths are honoured and fostered. We believe in a close partnership with parents and encourage parents to become actively involved in the school life of their child. It is this unique community of motivated students, enthusiastic teachers and supportive parents that creates our warm and welcoming atmosphere at Hampstead.
We actively work together to ensure there is open dialogue and a commitment to our philosophy and approach. New students and families are warmly welcomed and very quickly settle and feel at ease here.
We offer a full academic programme, focusing on the learning of the whole child in terms of social, emotional, physical, spiritual and academic learning. As part of our programme all students from Kindergarten learn to play either the violin or the cello through the Suzuki music programme. In addition to class lessons we have specialist subject lessons in Spanish, Music, Information Technology, Art, Physical Education and Library. We also have an extensive after-school activities programme which provides enrichment for our students and a sense of balance.
London is seen as an extension of the classroom and we take full advantage of the wonderful learning opportunities offered by the city. Classes regularly visit the museums and galleries of London and the significant buildings and landmarks of the capital.
We welcome all visitors to our campus and are pleased to show them the learning that is taking place at Southbank Hampstead. You will find a warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, yet with a commitment to purpose in providing the very best learning opportunity for our students.
