First term ends on a musical note
Southbank students joined a choir of over 1000 school children at the Royal Albert Hall for the annual CLIC Sargent Christmas Celebration. The Choir performed alongside a host of professional singers and variety performances, this year including Lucy Spraggan, Jocelyn Brown, Connie Talbot and dance act Urban Strides. It was an incredible evening that our students were honoured to participate in. Several Southbank students were interviewed for Radio 2 about their experience of the concert. Click here to listen.
Further musical performances took place both on and off campus during December: Kensington cellists and violinists’ Busking Day raised money for Mary’s meals; Westminster students performed at the Marylebone Christmas Lights Show; students, their families and staff enjoyed the Grade 6-12 students’ Musical Showcases. Additionally, Grade 8 were thrilled to host a visit by Meridian Brass, a vibrant brass quartet who has received numerous commissions, including a fanfare for HRH the Duke of Edinburgh at the opening of the National Maritime Museum’s Sammy Ofer Wing.
