If you are interested in our Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) or Diploma Programme (IB DP), you will be applying to join our Westminster campus.

Please enclose the following documents with your application:

Age 7 and younger, applying for EC3 – Grade 1

  • Application form (completed in English, or translated into English before being submitted)
  • Passport copy
  • School/nursery reports for the last two years (where available) which must be accompanied by an English translation if reports are not in English
  • Confidential teacher reference (using Southbank’s official form)
  • Child’s drawing (for applicants aged 5-7 the drawing should be accompanied by a brief written unassisted comment)
  • Parent’s statement (minimum 200 words) explaining why you would like your child to attend Southbank
  • Other relevant supporting documents (test results, educational psychologist and other specialist reports, medical information, special learning needs assessment results)
  • Financial Responsibility form (if a third party will be responsible for the student’s tuition fees)
  • A non-refundable application fee of £200

Age 7-18, applying for Grades 2 – 11

  • Application form (completed in English, or translated into English before being submitted)
  • Passport copy
  • School reports for the last two years which must be accompanied by an English translation if reports are not in English
  • Confidential teacher references from the following teachers (using Southbank’s official form)
    – PYP: General Teacher reference
    – MYP: English and Maths Teacher reference
    – DP: English, Science and Maths Teacher reference
  • Student essays (handwritten, unassisted, using Southbank’s official form)
  • Parent’s statement (minimum 200 words) explaining why you would like your child to attend Southbank
  • Other relevant supporting documents (test results, educational psychologist and other specialist reports, medical information, special learning needs assessment results)
  • Financial Responsibility form (if a third party will be responsible for the student’s tuition fees)
  • A non-refundable application fee of £200

Please note that we do not accept applications for students wishing to join Grade 12. 

Essays & Other Documents

For essay topics (which vary by grade) and further particulars, please consult the Application Pack. Please note that from Grade 4 upwards all applicants whose first language is not English will be asked to complete an online English test before their application can be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. We will email you a personal link to the test once your application fee is received.

Please also provide any other documents that may be relevant within the context of your application, for example, if your child has any educational psychologist’s reports, special learning needs officer’s reports, educational assessments and similar. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to request additional supporting documents

Application Review

The Admissions Committee will review the application within 7 working days, and the Admissions Team will notify you of the outcome of your application. If the Committee recommends that your child is admitted to the school, and a place is available, you will be given the option to receive a formal offer by the Admissions Team. If no places are available for your desired entry date, the Admissions Team will place you on the waiting list, and will notify you if/when a place becomes available..
