Grade 11 students attend Leeuvenhoek Lecture
Our Grade 11th students attended the prestigious triennial Leeuvenhoek Lecture last week. This event is centred on the Leeuvenhoek Prize, which is awarded in memory of Antoni Van Leeuvehoek, the first ever person to see bacteria under a microscope. Students listened to a fascinating talk given by the recipient of the award, Prof Jeff Errington, Dean of the School of Cell and Molecular Biosciences. Students attending the event have a special interest in bacteria and antibiotics and found it stimulating as the lecture related directly to the IB Biology syllabus they are currently studying.
