Our students’ language and culture trip to Montpellier
Last week our Grade 10 and 11 language students were given the unique opportunity to experience French culture and practise their French as they travelled to the beautiful city of Montpellier in the South of France. They were fully immersed in everything French and undertook French language course throughout the trip. The courses were tailored lessons that provided by specialised French teachers. The students stayed with French families in pairs ensuring they lived in authentic French lifestyle. Evenings were filled with a multitude of outings and activities with students touring museums of Montpellier, attending conferences and the cinema also. They had the chance to taste some of the regions local products, and witnessed locals playing the Petanque and the traditional Provencal dances. Even more excitingly, students ventured to Camargue in the picturesque city of Alres to explore the World Unesco Heritage natural reserve. By the end of the week, all students felt that they developed their language abilities while embracing the French culture and the trip will be well worth repeating.
