Students take a walk on the wild side at London Zoo
Why do camels have long eyelashes? Why does a sloth turn green?
On Thursday 15 May a group of Grade 2 students from Hampstead took part in a very interesting ‘World Habitats’ workshop at London Zoo. During this exciting session students looked at the different kinds of habitat animals can live in including rainforests, deserts, oceans and discovered who lives there.
They learnt a lot about the special adaptations these animals have made over time in order to survive and thrive in such extreme conditions and the problems they still regularly face.
Here at Southbank International School we encourage our teachers to actively seek opportunities for students to engage in educational experiences that permit students to use ‘London as a Classroom.’ Our students certainly had an amazing day observing wildlife at the zoo and enjoyed handling some of its inhabitants too!
