A different approach to academic excellence
Unlike many other curricula, the IB is not a system that heavily relies on standardised testings. Instead, it is an inquiry-based programme that encourages students to learn independently, be innovative and creative, and think critically at all the time.
Southbank is an all through school (2*-18 years) with rolling admissions. Your child can benefit from the IB curriculum from primary school age all the way through to college.

Easy transition to/from different curricula
Transitioning to or from the IB program from a local curriculum is simple. The IB's rigorous academic standards and emphasis on critical thinking, research, and independent learning equip students with a strong foundation that can be easily applied to various educational systems.
Southbank provides a comprehensive range of support to students and parents to help them settle in or move on.

The chance to thrive in a rapidly evolving world
The IB curriculum prepares students beyond the classroom. It encourages them to do more than blindly accept what is put in front of them. It is a curriculum that nurtures within its students their natural capacity to be inquisitive and think independently, critically, and creatively; all essential skills to understand how they can impact the world around them.
We give children the best possible start in life, both academically and personally.

We celebrate the child’s individuality to unleash their potential
We take the time to understand how each child learns best, their interests and their talents. This allows us to support their progress and give them the tools they need to flourish. Students who study the IB go on to some of the best universities in the world.

More about the IB
The IB enjoys a reputation for providing a high-quality education to students for over 50 years. Southbank International School is the first school in the UK authorised to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) academic programmes.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme offers a pathway for all students to excel and thrive, regardless of their starting point. Children who have not previously studied the IB adapt quickly to the programme due to its holistic and student-centred approach.
Having been originally established as a direct response to what is often a severe lack of flexibility in varying school systems around the world, the IB is now recognised in more than 100 countries.
