INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE AT SOUTHBANK
The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is enjoyed by both international learners and those who have not previously studied the IB, including children moving over from private primary or secondary schools. The IB aims to do more than other curricula. It builds students critical thinking skills, nurtures their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.

We are proud to share the exceptional results of our graduating Class of 2026 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This year, 95 students completed the full Diploma. Their results reflect the hard work, intellectual ambition, and commitment that characterise a Southbank education.

🎓 A Historic Milestone for the Class of 2026! 🎓
We are incredibly thrilled to celebrate our students on this IB Results Day! This year marks a monumental achievement as we celebrate the largest cohort ever at our Westminster Campus: all 95 students! 🌟
Today marks the culmination of immense dedication for our biggest graduating class yet, and the start of exciting new journeys worldwide. Our May 2026 cohort has truly embodied the spirit of inquiry and academic excellence that defines Southbank. 🌍
We are thrilled that two students have the required grades to accept offers to read medicine and many other students have been accepted onto courses that include engineering, neuroscience, biotechnology, politics, architecture, business, and arts in the UK and globally.
A massive congratulations to all 95 of our graduates, and a heartfelt thank you to the amazing faculty and families who supported them every step of the way! 💙

This is a huge milestone for our community, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our very first IBCP cohort this September.
Delivered in partnership with SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), our IBCP will give students a unique opportunity to combine academic rigour with career-related learning, opening doors to liberal arts and creative, design-led pathways alongside the strengths of the IB framework.
This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to offering students more ways to discover their passions, build real-world skills, and chart their own path to future success.

Our students had an unforgettable experience during their trip to Valencia, immersing themselves in the language, culture and vibrant atmosphere of Spain🇪🇸
Throughout the trip, students explored some of Valencia’s most famous landmarks, gaining a deeper understanding of the city’s rich history and culture. They stepped out of their comfort zones by learning salsa dancing, embracing a key part of Spanish tradition, and enjoyed exciting water activities, including paddleboarding and surfing along the beautiful Mediterranean coast🌊💃
For our Spanish students, the trip provided a valuable opportunity to practise their language skills in real-life situations, building confidence in speaking and listening while experiencing Spanish culture first-hand. From ordering food and asking for directions to interacting with local people, students were able to bring their classroom learning to life.
The trip was filled with adventure, learning and lasting memories, and we are incredibly proud of how our students represented the school throughout their time in Valencia🌟

What a fantastic afternoon at our Summer Music & Performing Arts Extravaganza! 🌟
Students from across the school came together to present a wonderful retelling of Where the Wild Things Are, showcasing the incredible musical and performing arts skills they have developed throughout the year.
Our instrumental musicians performed repertoire that captured the moods and emotions of each scene, including two original student compositions – Waves, written collaboratively by our cello students, and a composition created by Southbank Strings for the Wild Rumpus scene 🎶
Students also shared their creativity through dance, mime and freeze-frame performances, all of which were entirely student-created. Every student took part in singing, with a special performance from our choir adding to the celebration.
This performance was a true collaborative achievement and a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their hard work, creativity and talent with family and friends. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved! 👏
