Welcome to Southbank International School

We are London's leading International Baccalaureate (IB) School, offering a different approach to academic excellence for children aged 2*-18

At our Central London campuses in Hampstead, Kensington and Westminster, we nurture talent, celebrate individuality and develop curious, inquisitive and constantly challenging minds. Our students consistently achieve outstanding results and first-choice university offers.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is enjoyed by both international learners and those who have not previously studied the IB, including children moving over from private primary or secondary schools. The IB aims to do more than other curricula. It builds students critical thinking skills, nurtures their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.

Through a commitment to academic excellence and a uniquely liberal ethos, the IB also develops students with an inner belief in themselves. Southbank students have an openness to the outside world and a desire to give back to communities on a local, national and global level.

IB Diploma Results at a Glance

We are proud to share the exceptional results of our graduating Class of 2025 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

These outcomes place Southbank among the leading IB schools globally. Just as importantly, they reflect the strength of our inclusive, student-centred approach – where academic achievement is balanced with critical thinking, creativity, and global awareness.

As always, our wonderful librarian Suza Johnston at Westminster – Conway Street Campus has been offering bespoke reading recommendations to students ahead of the summer break — because every reader is different, and every book can open a new world.

Here are Suza’s top staff picks for thought-provoking, timely, and entertaining summer reads:

🗯️ Graphic Non-Fiction
On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder, illustrated by Nora Krug
A striking graphic edition packed with 20 powerful lessons from 20th-century history — teaching us how to stay engaged, ethical, and alert in the face of modern-day authoritarianism. A book for everyone.

🌍 Non-Fiction
In Search of Us by Lucy Moore
Perfect for incoming Diploma students — especially those taking Anthropology or Theory of Knowledge — this book explores the pioneers of anthropology and how their discoveries reshaped our understanding of race, gender, and identity.

🤖 Fiction
Service Model by Adrian Tchaikovsky
A witty, dystopian sci-fi adventure about robot sentience and rebellion. Shortlisted for the 2025 Hugo Award, it’s clever, current, and great fun — especially for fans of Douglas Adams.
