Schools Inspection Service
The Schools Inspection Service (SIS) is a United Kingdom based inspection body that carries out school inspections under Section 162A of the Education Act 2002.
To this end SIS works on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE), to evaluate schools and prepare reports which include recommendations for development and commendations for excellent practice.
For those parents familiar with the UK education system, SIS fulfils the same function that Ofsted performs in many other schools across the UK.
