Southbank’s IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) creates a stimulating and challenging environment for children aged 5-11.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is enjoyed by both international learners and those who have not previously studied the IB. The IB aims to do more than other curricula. It builds students critical thinking skills, nurtures their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.

Small class sizes and free extra-curricular activities (ECA’s)

The size of our PYP classes are typically 12 to 18 students. We believe small class sizes optimise the teaching and learning experience of our students. Our classrooms are vibrant, stimulating environments that nurture exploration and discovery.

Extra-curricular activities (ECAs) are an excellent way to extend what our students learn in the classroom. ECAs provide students with lots of opportunities to explore new interests and develop high levels of skill in existing interests. Significantly building your child’s confidence and skills during their time with us.

Our teachers are friendly, caring, outstanding practitioners, adept at developing independence. Our teachers care for and are interested in our students and adapt to their needs, values and strengths. The strong student/teacher relationships result in the ability to set high expectations resulting in the achievement of excellent results.

We are extremely proud of our excellent IB results. Assessing our applicants’ academic performance and potential without using entrance exams has yielded IB scores that challenge those of the UK’s top selective independent and Grammar schools.
